New Punk Ads: Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion

Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables Dead Kennedys are my favorite punk band, ever since I heard "Holiday in Cambodia" while playing Guitar Hero III. There's a reason for that, because the Dead Kennedys are quite possibly the best guitar punk band of all time. East Bay Ray's guitar sound deviates from the basic punk mold by not only being pretty strong technically but also by incorporating a lot of reverb and delay, and Jello Biafra's lyrics Classic hardcore, are often really cool, sarcastic, and politically minded. Overall this is an essential hardcore effort and you should definitely spin it. JACK

Bad Religion - Suffer One of the albums that, in my opinion, set the foundation on which most of modern punk is based on. Bad Religion, in the late eighties, revived hardcore punk with melody, leading to the creation of melodic hardcore that would eventually give to California punk bands like Pennywise and the Offspring. This is, also in my opinion, Bad Religion's best and most well-produced album, and from beginning to end is full of memorable cuts. Definitely worth checking out. JACK
