Top Ten Albums of 2015
This year, instead of compiling a list of our fav albums at the end of 2014, we decided to wait until the end of the official school year and share what we acclaim to be the BEST albums of the year.
ARI ABRAMS, MUSIC DIRECTOR, The Essential Makeout Mix
2. Romare - Projections
A lot of layered, cut-and-paste jazzy/bluesy/Afro-centric samples. Very warm, very chill.
3. Björk - Vulnicura
Björk don't need no man. Her 9th release is so beautiful and intimate and engrossing. She's the soft, caressing dynamo.
4. Hiatus Kaiyote – Choose Your Weapon
This album is a masterpiece and it makes me feel tingly.
5. Viet Cong – Viet Cong
Militant and synergistic rock. I went to this show with Zach and Radha and the singer, in his drunken stupor, began strumming his guitar with a banana.
6. Levon Vincent – Levon Vincent
Recommended to me by none other than Mr. Henry Begler. Thank you
7. Young Fathers - White Men Are Black Men Too
They scare me, I dig it.
8. Panda Bear – Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper
Just such a solid piece of work from Lennox. V catchy in its idiosyncrasies.
9. BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface Killah – Sour Soul
Quite possibly my favorite meeting of the minds in this Spring 2015 semester.
10. Jeff Bridges Sleeping Tapes
Jeff Bridges is fulfilling his life's true purpose by whispering sweet nothings into our ears.
10. Fort Romeau - Insides
(I really couldn't cut one out so there's another 10) I think I've listened to Insides maybe 34 times
