Show Review: The Specials

My initial feelings on seeing The Specials perform were a mix of excitement and anxiety. I was thrilled to be seeing one of my all-time favorite bands, but fearful that due to their veteran status that their energy level would fall short. I feel guilty now for ever doubting them! The Specials delivered, and more. Club Nokia was packed from the pit to the top of the balcony, where I was initially watching from due to over capacity down below.

About half way through their performance, I began to get pretty thirsty from The Specials induced dancing, and headed down to the bar. As I turned around to head back up I realized that the pit was right behind me, with no security to keep me out. So, I ran up there just in time to catch two of my favorite tunes, Ghost Town and Little Bitch, which, by the way, were played to perfection.

I wish my parents were cool enough to bring me to a Specials show. This little one can dance!

All in all, this was an amazing experience. The crowd was amazing, skanking all over the place, and full of happy, nice people that love The Specials and love to dance.
