CMJ 2011: Activities & College Radio Day

via tristateindie.com

KXSC attended this year's College Music Journal, an annual music marathon and film festival hosted in New York. CMJ is a great opportunity to learn more about college radio from panel discussions and showcases. From topics such as "The New World of PR" to "How to Organize, Plan, and Host a Killer Event," the conference covered all the basics that every station should know in order to build up their name.

Also, we were nominated for a CMJ award! Though we lost to RLC from Piscataway for "Best Use of Limited Resources," it was fun to see the college radio community come together and celebrate everyone's outstanding work.

It's an unforgettable experience to go to New York, see amazing bands, and meet fantastic people who share the same interests as you. The whole experience served as an inspiration to build support for college radio everywhere. If you haven't already, check out your local station, tune into one of KXSC's incredible programs now, and enjoy the fact that you're supporting one of the most fun communities in the world.
