Preoccupations: Pre-Show Coverage

Off the heels of their latest release, Preoccupations is on tour once again, rummaging around the U.S. and ending November abroad. The band has new material, very new in fact, the eponymous album Preoccupations was released just last month. It is a wonderful work that deserves attention, post-punk still lives and it shows in these relatively young musicians' work. The alternative band has an show this Friday at The Roxy that I will be attending (and you should too).

Expect loud music, dissonance and youth. In the past, Preoccupations' live performance has been quite the proverbial shitshow: drunk band members, aggressive audience members, and a strong stench of beer. I expect all of that to continue and plan on contributing to as much of it as I can. The show is not sold out yet, tickets on sale
